John Cena has been confirmed as the voice actor for the ‌character Peacemaker in the upcoming Mortal⁣ Kombat movie. Cena made the announcement himself in a social media post, although no details were given⁤ as to ⁢Peacemaker’s role in the ⁢film, or‌ what his powers ⁣and abilities will be.

No word yet‍ on the casting for Anthony Starr’s Homelander⁣ role for the film,⁢ although there⁤ have been some rumors that ‍Cena⁣ could be also playing the role of the character.

The upcoming reboot of the Mortal Kombat movie follows in the footsteps of‍ the⁤ classic 1995 film, which was immediately ‍incorporated into‌ the franchise’s continuity, ‍and remains one of the most ​successful and beloved adaptations of ‍a video game ‌up to ⁣this day.

The⁢ movie will reportedly be​ directed by ​Simon⁢ McQuoid, who has worked ⁢on some of ‍the most successful martial arts films of recent times,​ such as The ‍Raid and Ninja: Shadow ​of⁣ a Tear.

The film is ‌based on the hit‌ fighting game franchise, which has been around for ⁣almost three decades. Mortal Kombat has‍ gained a cult following due ​to its iconic characters and violence-filled gameplay.

The film will star some well-known names, such as Lewis Tan,⁤ Max ⁤Huang, Joe Taslim and Jessica McNamee. ‌It is scheduled​ to premier on⁢ April 23, 2021.
