Resident Evil 4 Gains Steam Achievements, Hints at Upcoming DLC

Capcom announced a new update for Resident Evil 4 via Steam, adding 64 Steam Achievements and achievement tracking for the game.

The full list of the new Steam Achievements can be found here, alongside some newly added 4K resolution support for the game. Many of the specific Achievements are cryptic, and they hint at upcoming downloadable content for the series.

While Capcom has not officially announced any new downloadable content for the game, the Achievements suggest that the game could soon feature new levels, weapons, items, and costumes. This isn’t the first time Resident Evil 4 has seen new content, as Capcom previously released new outfits and weapons for the game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Resident Evil 4 originally released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, and later made its way to a variety of platforms including PC, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3, and more. It has since become a fan-favorite title for the series, as it managed to keep the horror elements intact, while innovating with an over-the-shoulder viewpoint and a more action-oriented approach.

Whether or not the new content for Resident Evil 4 lives up to fan expectations remains to be seen, but gamers can’t help but get excited at the thought of revisiting one of the series’ most beloved entries.
