Red Dead Redemption fans have a lot to be excited about, as publisher Rockstar Games has just teased the possibility of a PC remaster of the title. According to reports, the remaster is scheduled to release either at the end of 2020 or early 2021.
The original Red Dead Redemption was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2010. Since then, it was ported to the Xbox One in 2016 and the PlayStation 4 in 2019. While these versions boasted improved visuals and other enhancements, the game still retains its original style. It would be interesting to see the game receive a full graphical overhaul as part of a PC remaster.
The news comes from a report by Eurogamer. According to their sources, the game has been in development for some time. Its digital distribution would be similar to that of Grand Theft Auto V, with the core game available as a standalone and various DLCs also available for purchase. Furthermore, the game is expected to have a “significantly reduced” price tag.
Red Dead Redemption is one of Rockstar Games’ flagship titles, and a PC remaster would be sure to capture the hearts of fans. With Red Dead Redemption 2 releasing in 2018, there has been a renewed interest in the original game and it’s clear that Rockstar Games is capitalizing on this. If their plans come to fruition, then PC gamers may soon be able to experience the Wild West in a whole new light.
