It was a seemingly innocent dive most Zelda players undertake – the dive into the depths of the Hylian sea with Link’s trusty horse, Epona. That was the mission set forth by one daring player, who had done just about everything else the game had to offer. Little did they know, however, what lay beneath the waves would spell disaster.
The player got Epona galloping at full speed towards the huge jumps over the watery abyss, just as they had before. What they hadn’t realized, though, was that the water’s current had grown incredibly strong since their last foray. As Epona dived over the waves, she was promptly swept away beneath the surface of the roiling sea.
The player was left to frantically search the sea, trying to find where Epona had gone. But all efforts were futile; not even the most advanced tracking equipment could be of any help. The horse was simply nowhere to be found.
No trace of the brave Epona was ever found, leaving the player devastated. Even the most skilled Zelda players must face their defeat at times, and this was one of those occasions. This failed attempt to dive into the depths of the Hylian seas truly was a disaster for the brave player.
