Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the biggest hits of the year, but fans have been clamoring for the opportunity to experience the classic original Mortal Kombat 1. Now Eden Boon, creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise, has teased the possibility of a Wi-Fi filter and crossplay feature for the upcoming release.
Boon took to Twitter to share a screenshot of what appears to be a Wi-Fi filter menu in the PS4 version of the game. The menu allows players to customize the matchmaking experience by selecting regions they’d like to play in, latency or ping limit, and whether or not to allow crossplay.
Crossplay is becoming increasingly popular across many different video game franchises, and it would be a great addition to Mortal Kombat 1. It would allow players of all platforms to compete against each other, potentially leading to new strategies and tactics.
The original Mortal Kombat 1 has held up remarkably well over the years, but it’s likely to get more attention with improved graphics and new features like Wi-Fi filter and crossplay. Boon’s tweet indicates that the game is in the works, and fans are eagerly awaiting its release.
