At first glance, two video game franchises may seem like two worlds apart—but a recent Stunning Pirate Mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag proves this isn’t always the case.
Most recently captured in a Youtube video, the ambitious mod combines elements from both games and—with a bit of tinkering—turns Red Dead Redemption 2 into a pirate simulator.
In the video, we can see how the protagonist, Arthur Morgan, is not just an outlaw anymore but a pirate who can travel between islands, plunder for resources, and defend himself from ships of rival pirates— reminiscent of the ship battles in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.
Of course, these abilities do not come without a price. It took the creators, modder jedijosh920 and concept artist Guadmaz, months to customize the code until it was just right.
The mod is not yet available to the general public, and details remain hazy as to when it will drop or even if it will drop at all. Nevertheless, it’s intriguing to consider the possibility of two beloved games existing in harmony— if only in a mod.
For now, fans of both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will be able to enjoy watching the YouTuber’s video and marvel at the possibilities of this mod.
