Microsoft and People Can Fly Partner to Revive Existing IP with Project Maverick
Microsoft and People Can Fly, the developer behind 2019’s hit game “Outriders”, have announced a partnership to revive an existing IP with a new title. Titled “Project Maverick”, Microsoft has laid out some big plans for the game.
First and foremost, Microsoft has stated that they’re aiming for Project Maverick to be a game with a significant arcade-style component. Led by People Can Fly, the dev team is tasked with making the game as fast-paced and thrilling as possible, while also giving players a great variety of content to explore. Whether that comes in the form of the game’s story or its gameplay remains to be seen.
In terms of the game’s release, Microsoft has said that they plan for Project Maverick to launch sometime in 2021. No official date has yet been announced, though it’s likely that more specifics will be revealed in the coming months. It’s also not yet known whether or not the game will be exclusive to Microsoft platforms, though that is the most likely outcome.
The partnership between Microsoft and People Can Fly should make for an exciting gaming experience when Project Maverick eventually launches. People Can Fly are renowned for developing some of the most thrilling games on the market, and with Microsoft’s support, Project Maverick looks set to be another hit when it’s released next year.
