Sony’s State of Play broadcast on May 26th will feature a new gameplay trailer for Spider-Man 2, and the latest issue of Game Informer has more details about its new suits and their enhanced powers. According to the magazine, the sequel will have more than 65 costumes from both the Marvel comics and the movies.
The first game introduced Spider-Man suits that could be unlocked, but this time, each suit will come with unique suit powers. While one can overpower enemies with energy claws or produce electric pulses, another may fire arc blasts or provide additional healing abilities. With a variety of options to choose from, fans will be able to tailor their Spidey to their own playstyle.
The sequel will feature several familiar suits from the previous game, such as the Iron Spider and Spider-UK, as well as some new ones like the Stark Industries Suit with limb-mounted rockets and the Vintage Comics Suit that pays homage to early Spider-Man stories.
Game Informer also revealed information about Spider-Man 2‘s story, which will involve Spidey going up against villains from the movies such as the Vulture and Doctor Octopus, as well as some from the comics. Plus, there will be multiple factions vying for control of the city, forcing Spider-Man to make difficult moral decisions.
With an impressive cast of characters, an in-depth story, and dozens of different suits to choose from, Spider-Man 2 looks like it will be a must-play for Marvel fans. Be sure to tune into the Sony State of Play stream on May 26th for more details.
