We don’t know what the future holds, but it certainly sounds like 2020 will be a great year for single-player games. From triple-A to indie titles, we can expect some stellar releases this year. But for those of us who enjoy the occasional solo gaming session, 2023 is shaping up to be an even better year. From action-roleplaying games to open-world adventures, here are some of the best single-player games coming out in 2023.
1. Fallout: New Vegas 2
Fallout: New Vegas 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 RPG. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the newest installment promises to bring a renewed vision to the iconic franchise. Expect an expansive open world, updated graphics, new characters, and all the post-apocalyptic atmosphere you could hope for.
2. Death Stranding
Kojima Productions has been hard at work on their upcoming action game, and fans are still eagerly awaiting its release. Set in a bizarre post-apocalyptic world, you play as Sam Porter and embark on a journey to reconnect the fractured cities of America. Death Stranding promises to be an experience like no other, combining gorgeous visuals and innovative game mechanics.
3. The Elder Scrolls VI
Bethesda has been teasing us with details of the highly anticipated 6th installment in the Elder Scrolls series for years now, and 2023 will finally be the year when we get to explore this vast and incredible world. Prepare to explore the province of Hammerfell and discover its mysterious secrets.
4. Shadow of the Tomb Raider

10. DOOM: Eternal
DOOM: Eternal is the followup to the brutal and fast-paced shooter, DOOM. You’ll blast your way through hordes of hellish monsters while using a variety of powerful weapons. The developers promise that the intensity has been taken up a notch, making this a must-play game.
11. The Last of Us Part II
The Last of Us Part II will revisit the world of The Last of Us and continue Ellie and Joel’s journey. The sequel is filled with new characters, challenging puzzles, improved combat mechanics, and of course, an emotional story.

The 3rd installment in one of the biggest open-world video game series of all time, Watch Dogs: Legion will have you take control of a group of vigilantes as they battle against an oppressive regime. With a huge variety of characters to choose from, you’ll have plenty of freedom when it comes to completing objectives.
