Speculations for the next Assassin’s Creed game are rampant after Ubisoft hinted for the next installment being Codename Red. Now, many assume it might be launching in 2024.
Recently, hints of Assassin’s Creed being in the works have been reeling in causing rumors about what the upcoming title would be. With Codename Red dropping as a hint, there were speculations to what the game would be, as well as its potential release date.
Keep in mind, that Ubisoft has yet to confirm anything apart from their surprise announcement. The teaser revealed nothing about the game, however, some sources have conjectured it could be a prequel or a sequel.
The general opinion seems to hover around either a return to Assassin’s Creed Origins sites or a trip into the events of the American Revolution. Both settings can support the idea of a prequel or sequel, depending on how Ubisoft would like to approach it.
If you follow Assassin’s Creed, then Codename Red may already strike a chord within you. Many believe that Red is the working name of the title, with the gameplay depending on the direction Ubisoft wants to take.
Apart from the tidbits of speculations, there is a purported release date with Microsoft featuring Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red in their stylized @XboxGames Twitter feed. The hint reads, “2024.”
The assumption is that Codename Red is aiming for a 2024 launch which is still three years away. There’s a high chance that the release date could change as we know little else about the game or even the setting.
Regardless, with Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red being the next most anticipated installment in the series, fans will have to wait and see what Ubisoft has in store for them.
